Frequently Asked Questions
What does the pressure rating PN mean, and is it enough for UAE building systems?
PN (Pressure Nominale) is the maximum working pressure in bar at 20 °C. PN25 and PN30 comfortably exceed typical UAE building water pressure (4–12 bar). For fire-fighting risers up to 20 bar and industrial circuits these ratings remain within safe limits. For higher-pressure steam or industrial applications MT offers PN40 and PN63 ranges.
Why is DZR brass specified for UAE potable-water systems?
Dubai and UAE water supplies are predominantly desalinated — low mineral content, slightly acidic, and aggressive towards standard brass. DZR (Dezincification-Resistant) brass (EN 12165 / CW602N) resists selective zinc leaching that causes standard brass to fail prematurely. DEWA and Dubai Municipality specifications require DZR brass for potable-water pipework.
Are the threads BSP or NPT? Which standard is used in the UAE?
These valves use BSP (British Standard Pipe) threads — the standard throughout the UAE, GCC countries, and most of Asia, Africa, and Europe. NPT (American) threads have a different taper angle and are not interchangeable with BSP. All MT brass ball valves are supplied with ISO 7-1 BSP threads as standard.
What certifications do MT brass ball valves carry?
MT ball valves carry CE marking, comply with PED 2014/68/EU, and are manufactured under ISO 9001:2015. The range holds DVGW (Germany), WRAS (UK) and ACS (France) potable-water approvals — internationally recognised as the highest drinking-water certification standards. Datasheets with certification dossiers are available on request.
What are delivery lead times and minimum order from Dubai stock?
Items marked "In Stock — Dubai Warehouse" ship same or next business day with no minimum order quantity. Delivery within Dubai is typically 1–2 business days; across the UAE 2–3 business days. For project volumes, MT Middle East offers scheduled releases from stock — contact us with your bill of materials for a quotation.
